Dark days.

Posted by dlovell | 11/05/07

They say it's always darkest before the dawn. Looking out the window on a Monday afternoon, I'm not so sure I agree. It's dark out already, and it's not yet 5 p.m.

But the days aren't just dark because we turned our clocks back Sunday morning. They're dark because I'm a Yankees fan. And right now there seems to be so little to get excited about.

First Joe Torre left the team. Then A-Rod left. And Jorge Posada and Mariano Rivera may soon follow. At least that's my fear. And who knows what happens to the Yankees next year if they've got Wilson Betemit at third base and Kyle Farnsworth as a closer. I shudder to think you could possibly be next year's closer, if it isn't Posada. Heck, even Don Mattingly is gone...
