Opening day.

Posted by dlovell | 04/02/07

I wore my Yankees tie, my pullover and my cap today. It's Opening Day for the Yankees. Finally, after a long winter, baseball is back.

Sure, I've been able to catch bits and pieces of Spring Training, but it isn't the same. It doesn't count. It doesn't matter whether you win. But today, the Yanks started off 1-0. One game closer to the World Series.

This year is scary. We've got Andy Pettitte back. Carl Pavano seems healthy...he even pitched pretty well today, until the fifth. Even new import Kei Igawa looks good. The lineup is close to the deadliest in history. But there's a tough Boston team out there with, at least at first blush, better pitching. And the best 3-4 punch in the game.

I'm full of baseball today...
