Paradise lost

jbrenneman, Outbursts

Why does it not suprise me that even in worst of conditions human beings are still able to find one more way to increase the suffering of other human beings.

Journeys end

jbrenneman, Outbursts

Hillary Clintons historic battle to win the Democratic nomination appears to be nearing it's end. If she is able to exit gracfully she may yet have a part in the next administration. Somehow I don't think she will go of her own free will but if she really wants to be considered for President the next time around she needs to find a way to bow out sooner than later.

Cruel Irony

jbrenneman, Outbursts

Just when you thought that the economic stimulus checks were a cheap ploy on the part of George Bush to regain some of his past popularity it looks like they may actually help to jump start the failing economy after all. Well maybe not to the extent that it will last but for the moment it will help. After all the storms in the mid-west and the fires in Florida and California the need for building supplies and skilled labor along with related services will inject some needed finances into the market. The checks that most people were just going to use to fill their gas tanks or pay a months rent will now have to go into rebuilding their shattered lives. Ironically without knowing it George Bush may actually have done a good thing this time. Of course it still sounds like a cheap ploy to regain his past popularity but at least someone in the mid-west will have some money to start to rebuild with.

Almost done?

jbrenneman, Outbursts
Politics can be very unpredictable so I'll avoid saying that it looks like the end for Hillary Clinton, but with the endorsement of Barrack Obama by his former rival John Edwards it's appears to be just that. Then again the Clintons have an inherent ability to overcome just about anything...

McCains Bush problem

jbrenneman, Outbursts

As the primary season painfully drags on to the bitter end it is becoming more and more apparent that the biggest problem John McCain is going to face when the Democrats finally pick a candidate is not the Democrats at all. His biggest challenge is going to be how to distance himself from the President. My suggestion is to change his party, gender and race, but as it is not a truly realistic suggestion all I can really say is good luck! Maybe I'm as detached from reality as our current President but I think that the chances of John McCain winning the Presidency are slim to none. His only real hope of winning relies on the Democratic party imploding, which it has had a strong tendency to do over the last fifty years, but it appears that that will not be the case this time around. John McCain is an admirable man who has served this country to its benefit, but (without sounding like an Obama campaign droid) the world is ready for change and he is more about maintaining the status quo than most people would like.

Hillary,Hillary,Hillary!

jbrenneman, Outbursts

Now that it has been established that Hillary Clinton has no intention of pulling out of the campaign until every member of the human race has declared their undieing loyalty to Barrack Obama there is only one thing left for us to do. Discard all electronic devices and stop reading any news related to any and all aspects of the election and then in November when it truly counts we can start paying attention to the whole mess once again. I vote we all simply move back into caves and start all over again with just a little less violence and more naps!

Memorial Day

jbrenneman, Outbursts
America grieves for it's heros and remembers their sacrifice. They deserve our respect even if the reasons they do what they do are at times the subject of intense debate...

The End?

jbrenneman, Outbursts

I'm not going to jump on the band wagon and tell her she should get out while she is behind, but I will suggest she consider getting a pair of glasses so she can read the writing on the wall.
