Bernadette Pauley says getting married is a big responsibility.
“It’s like getting a dog,” she observes. “You have to be willing to pick its crap up for the rest of its life.”
Her husband, comedian Al Ducharme, sees marriage as a compromise. Every guy, he says, must be willing to indulge his wife’s obsession with candles.
Whenever he and Pauley pass a candle shop, she begs him to browse.
“Then I’m in for 45 minutes of this: ‘Smell it! Oh, it smells so good. Smell it! Smell it! Smell it!’”
Pauley and Ducharme will perform separate sets Wednesday July 16 through July 20, at Wise Guys, 426 N. Franklin St. (the former Roman’s Tavern location). Shows are scheduled for 7:30 p.m...
