Students in ninth-grade honors English work on a project in the computer lab at Durgee Junior High School. Before reading some of the works of William Shakespeare, students researched his life and Elizabethan England to gain a perspective on the environment in which he was writing, which helped them to interpret his works. Students worked in groups of two to create Photo Story presentations on such topics as Shakespeare the man, Shakespeare’s language, and Elizabethan government, religion and society.
