Motivational guru’s second book gives guidance for all walks of life and business
Christopher Novak had noticed that good business was becoming a lost art. So what better device to use when one is lost than the compass? Novak’s second book is centered on the compass, what he calls the 4 Circles Compass.
“This practical, common sense approach re-energizes timeless business concepts that can help create and sustain a successful organization,” Novak said of his latest baby, “4 Circles of Good Business: Plain Truth and Practical Solutions for Every Business Professional.”
This is a book that will be appreciated by people in all walks of life and levels of business, and also it is not industry specific. It gives guidance to leaders and insight to team members on how and why good business decisions are made.
Novak, a Marcellus resident, said his latest book will also strengthens the readers role as a coach, mentor and leader with teaching points and mentoring moments at the end of each chapter.
“The book is a project that started about 15 months ago when I was approached by my brother, Tim Novak, and his business partner, Paul Gray, about writing a book that captured their unique approach to evaluating business opportunities and guiding critical business decisions in an entrepreneurial venture,” said Chris Novak.
“Tim and Paul had successfully turned around a failing medical holding company, creating a publicly traded, fully compliant business platform that would eventually be home to breakthrough technologies in breast cancer research and neurological maladies,” he continued. “In examining the insights and lessons from this arduous journey they realized that the strategies and philosophies that had been successful to them as entrepreneurs were as applicable to the corporate world. The three of us met over a weekend at a cabin in Pennsylvania in August 2005 and worked through each of the main concepts and then I took the next several months to write a manuscript.
“The book was published last month by a new division of one of their companies, Core Concepts, LLC and will be the first of a series of business related publications that they intend to bring to market,” Christopher Novak said
He also drew from a myriad of business examples.
“4 Circles of Good Business” offers clear, practical insight in four key areas of business: capital and finance; operations and management; products and services; and organizational governance.
The book weaves these fundamentals with critical business objectives and stakeholder needs to create a dynamic instrument to evaluate emerging opportunities, re-direct resources, define action plans and build value. These concepts will be used daily.
The book costs $12.95, is available at the moment at 4circlesofgoodbusiness.com but will be available at Creekside Books in Skaneateles and on the major online retailers, such as Amazon.com and Barnes and Noble.
