It's been awhile since I've written about anything but the Yankees, so I figured the time has come to announce the culmination of my years-long quest for the elusive chocolate soda.

For anyone who doesn't know, I've been seeking out a commercially made chocolate soda. The responses to that quest have been interesting; most people think chocolate soda sounds awful. But, as I've said before, in my dad's younger years, soda fountains served up chocolate sodas all the time. I just want to try one.

That search took me to Dr Pepper headquarters. A couple of years ago, the soft drink maker started the Fountain Classics line, which flavors like Cherry Vanilla and Berries and Cream...

The Mitchell Report.

If you don't know already, I love baseball. For more than half the year, I practically live baseball. Even during the off-season, I follow the Hot Stove league and count down the days until Spring Training.

A couple of months ago, as speculation over the Mitchell Report mounted, I shook my head in bewilderment when radio talk show hosts continuously claimed that fans didn't want names in the Mitchell Report, and that it wouldn't do any good. Fans don't care, they said, who did what, or why they did it. Baseball should move on.

I disagreed.

I still disagree, now that the report has been released. No fewer than 12 players from past and current Yankees teams appear on the list -- most notably Roger Clemens and Andy Pettitte...
